Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

In short: Talbiya has no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no accounts. Everything you enter stays on your phone. Cresentrix Solutions does not collect, store, sell or share any personal information about you.

A few features use the internet. Each is listed below, with exactly what it sends.

Who we are

Talbiya is a free Islamic companion app for daily worship, Umrah and Hajj, published by Cresentrix Solutions, India. This policy covers the Talbiya app on Android, iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Wear OS and CarPlay, and this website. Contact: talbiya@cresentrix.com.

Information that stays on your phone

Everything you enter or log is stored only on your device:

  • your language, text size, prayer place and reminder choices;
  • your optional profile (name, gender, birth year and the year you began praying, madhhab, and a helper’s name and phone number);
  • your trips, checklist ticks and ritual round counts;
  • your prayer log, fasting log and fasts to make up, Qur’an reading place, tasbih and adhkar counts, and the optional prayer pause;
  • the figures you enter in the Zakat calculator;
  • your emergency (“I’m lost”) card: your name, your group leader’s phone, your hotels, tent and blood group.

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. We have no server that receives it.

Location

If you choose “Use my location”, Talbiya asks for your location to work out prayer times, the qibla direction and nearby mosques. Prayer times and the qibla are calculated on your phone. You can choose a city instead and never grant location access.

Your location leaves your phone only in these two cases, and only when you use them:

  • Mosques near you: when you open it, your position rounded to about 1 km is sent to OpenStreetMap’s public Overpass service to look up mosques in the area. Distances are then worked out on your phone, and directions open in your own maps app.
  • Weather on widgets: off unless you turn it on in the app’s settings. When on, the place used for your prayer times (your position or the city you chose), rounded to about 10 km, is sent to Open-Meteo at most once an hour while the app updates the widgets, so the home-screen widgets can show rain, clouds or a clear sky. Turning it off stops this and deletes the saved forecast.

Like any internet request, these services can see your device’s IP address. Talbiya never sends them your name, contact details, logs or any identifier for you. Their own privacy policies apply to what they receive. The Qur’an text, translations, duas, guides and prayer-time calculations are all inside the app and work offline.

Notifications and alarms

Adhan, prayer, suhoor and iftar, Jumu‘ah and other reminders are scheduled on your phone. No server sends them. On Android, Talbiya may ask for the “Alarms & reminders” permission so each adhan sounds on time.

Watch, widgets and backups

  • Apple Watch and Wear OS: your phone passes the coming days’ prayer times and your place name to your own watch, through Apple’s or Google’s watch connection. Nothing goes to us.
  • Widgets: they read the prayer times the app saves on the device.
  • Backups: “Your data” in the app can save a backup file. It is saved where you choose; we never receive it. The file is not encrypted, so keep it private.
  • Phone backups: your phone’s own backup (Google or iCloud) may include Talbiya’s data in your account, under that service’s terms.

Read-aloud and calling

The read-aloud button uses your phone’s own text-to-speech voice. “Call my helper” opens your phone’s dialler with the number you saved; Talbiya does not place or record the call.

Permissions

  • Location (optional): prayer times, qibla and mosques near you, as described above.
  • Notifications (optional): prayer reminders.
  • Alarms & reminders (Android, optional): reminders at the exact minute.
  • Internet: only for the features in the table above.

Children

Talbiya is a general app for Muslims of all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices and rights

Because your information never leaves your phone, you control it fully. You can change or clear anything in the app, turn off location, reminders or widget weather at any time, and remove all of Talbiya’s data by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling it. Cresentrix Solutions holds no copy, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you have a question or request under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act or any other law, write to us.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other companies. It is delivered through Cloudflare, which handles each request to keep the site fast and protected. Our web server and Cloudflare keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security, for a limited time.

Changes

If a future version changes what Talbiya does with your information, we will update this policy before that version is released, and change the date at the top.
