Mosques and countries use different calculation methods and small adjustments. Talbiya uses a standard method for your city. Where your local mosque or authority differs, follow them.

Check that notifications are allowed for Talbiya and that your phone is not on silent or Do Not Disturb. On Android 14 and later, allow “Alarms & reminders” for Talbiya (the app shows a reminder row in its settings if it is off), and remove Talbiya from battery saving. Open the app once every few days so it can schedule the coming week.

Moon sighting differs by region. In the app, go to More and adjust the Hijri date by a day to match your local announcement.

Phone compasses are disturbed by metal, magnets, cases and nearby electronics. Hold the phone flat, away from metal, and move it in a figure of eight to calibrate. When in doubt, confirm the direction locally.

No account is needed, ever. Almost everything works offline. The internet is used only for Qur’an recitation, mosques near you, optional widget weather and checking for app updates.

In the app, open More, then Your data, and save a backup file. On the new phone, install Talbiya and restore from that file.

Talbiya is a companion, not a religious authority. Its content has not yet been fully checked by scholars, and schools of thought differ on many points. Always follow your group’s guidance and a qualified scholar.
